Ancestors of DMEX

The DMEX tool hat two ancestor tools which were written for older versions of Microsoft windows.

DMEXBar

DMEXBar was a utility to work with Windows XP and is available since 2002.
Please note that DMEXBar does not work with Windows Vista nor later versions like Windows 7.
DMEXBar project was quit because of the toolbar concept was dropped by Microsoft in Vista.
Although on XP systems DMEXBar still works and is a useful utility, it is recommended to use its successor DMEX.

On newer Windows versions I recommend to use the successor DMEX.

DMEXBar is an extention of the explorer toolbar.
DMEXBar appears in the toolbar area of the windows explorer showing some new buttons to extend the explorer by a wide range of new features like:

DMEXMenu

DMEXMenu was a utility to work with Windows 95 and is available since 1994.
Please note that DMEXMenu should not be installed on newer versions of Windows.
DMEXMenu is copying files into the Windows directory during installation which is against security guidelines.
It is not recommended to use DMEXMenu anymore. Use its successor DMEX instead.

DMEX Menu is a context menu extention which means that you
have new options if you use a right mouse button click on a
file or folder in the windows explorer window. There is
a new submenu called DMEX which has a strawberry to its left side.
